Our Mission:

To provide an opportunity for youth to develop and grow in our community through participating in sport. Our goal is to foster a welcoming, enjoyable, safe and competitive environment which will assist in the social and physical development for children of all skill levels.

About

Knocknacarra Football Club is a local Sports Club catering for the full diversity of our local community. The club is 26 years old. The club grown from small beginnings to now being the largest club in Connaught. Our members range in age from 3 years old to adults with 80% of our membership being under the age of 16. The club has become an integral part of the lives of a large percentage of our local population in Knocknacarra. We are very proud to have built the club on the principles of total inclusion and competitiveness with a key focus on keeping all our children involved in sport through their development years.

Inclusion

Our focus on diversity and inclusion has allowed us to significantly increase the number and diversity of our teams. As well as our hugely popular Football Academy (kids up to the age of 11) incorporating our Little Eagles (kids aged under 5) we have our FAI Football for All programme team and our power wheelchair team ( Knocknacarra Speeders) on top of our very competitive male and female teams.

In July 2019 we were recognized for our leadership in inclusion in football by the Irish Amputee National Association who brought an amputee football tournament involving Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians and Cork City to Knocknacarra FC. A great day was had by all.

Why are we fundraising

To continue to meet our vision of growing our community based, inclusive club we intend to raise funds on an on-going basis to invest in facilities and coaching across all our teams and groups. We have made great progress in recent years improving our playing facilities and growing our team memberships and our team diversity but with success comes more demand and our membership continues to grow. Funds raised will help us add more playing facilities and allow is to expand our support of Football for Diversity groups.
